# GTA 6 100% Completion Checklist

GTA 6's completion requirements are not public and cannot be until release. Here is how GTA 5's 161-task checklist worked, what it excluded, and what lands at launch.

**Confidence tier for this page:** Speculation (`speculation`) — Our analysis or a community theory. Not a fact.

No completion requirements have been published, so no checklist exists. What we can give you now is how GTA 5 defined 100%, and the distinction that trips up nearly every completionist.

## The short answer

**GTA 6's 100% completion requirements have not been published, so no checklist for it can be real yet.** The requirements are defined inside the game and become readable from the in-game statistics screen at release — which means a genuine checklist can exist within hours of 19 November 2026, and not one minute before it.

The genuinely useful thing to know in advance is this: **in GTA 5, 100% completion did not mean doing everything.** Several of the largest collectible hunts counted for nothing toward the percentage, and several other requirements were satisfied at half the set — 25 of 50 stunt jumps, not all 50. Completionists who assumed the counter wanted everything spent tens of hours on content that was never going to move it. Whatever GTA 6 does, read the actual requirement list before you commit to anything.

## The three lists people confuse

Before any GTA completion run, it is worth being precise about which goal you are chasing, because they are three different things with three different rules:

1. **The completion percentage.** An in-game counter with a specific, finite list of qualifying tasks defined by the developer. This is what “100% completion” means literally.
2. **The achievement or trophy list.** A platform feature. Overlaps with the completion list but is not the same, and in GTA 5 included online content that the completion percentage did not care about. See [the achievements hub](https://gta6intelhub.com/achievements).
3. **Actually doing everything.** Every collectible, every side thread, every activity. Strictly larger than either of the other two, and the only one of the three with no in-game confirmation that you are finished.

Guides that treat these as one list are the reason people finish a 100% run and are surprised the trophy did not pop, or grind fifty collectibles that the counter ignored. We will keep them separate here.

## How GTA 5 structured its checklist

This describes **GTA 5**, as precedent for the shape GTA 6's requirements may take. It is not a claim about GTA 6.

GTA 5's completion percentage was driven by a defined checklist rather than by a vague sense of progress, and each group carried a fixed share of the counter:

| Group (GTA 5) | Requirement | Share |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Story missions** | All 69, including the five Lester assassination contracts | 50% |
| **Strangers and Freaks** | 20 specific missions — Franklin’s, not any 20 | 10% |
| **Hobbies and pastimes** | 42 activities, out of around 60 available | 10% |
| **Random events** | Any 14, out of 57 in the original game | 15% |
| **Miscellaneous** | 16 assorted tasks, including the qualifying collectibles | 15% |
| **Total** | **161 qualifying tasks** | **100%** |

Note the shape of that: **161** is the completion total, not 69. The number 69 gets quoted as “the GTA 5 completion checklist” constantly, and it is only the story-mission line of it.

Three things in that table are worth pulling out, because they are the ones that catch people:

- **Half the counter was just finishing the story.** Story missions were 50% on their own. The other half was everything else combined.
- **Several requirements were partial.** You did not need all 59 hobbies, only 42. You did not need all 57 random events, only any 14. Doing more than the requirement moved nothing.
- **The collectible requirements were split.** All 50 spaceship parts and all 50 letter scraps were required in full — but only 25 of the 50 stunt jumps, 25 of the 50 under-the-bridge flights and 8 of the 15 knife flights. Several whole sets, including the monkey mosaics, submarine parts, nuclear waste, hidden packages and epsilon tracts, counted for nothing toward the percentage at all. See the [collectibles hub](https://gta6intelhub.com/collectibles) for the full table.

Gold medals on story missions were *not* part of the requirement — another thing routinely assumed and routinely wrong. Nor did anything have to be done before the story ended; the whole checklist could be cleared afterwards.

And the reward for all of it: the “Career Criminal” achievement and trophy, a commemorative t-shirt, UFOs appearing over three locations, and a final Bigfoot-hunt mission unlocking. No money, no weapon, no vehicle. That is a real answer to “is 100% worth it?”, and it is the kind of answer we intend to give for GTA 6 before you commit the hours rather than after.

## What this tells us to expect from GTA 6

- **There will be a completion percentage.** Every mainline GTA has had one. Safe expectation; still an expectation.
- **The requirement list will be visible in-game from day one.** This is why the checklist is one of the fastest hubs to fill after release, and why we can publish it before anyone has actually completed a run.
- **Some content will not count.** Assume it, verify it, and check before you grind.
- **Random or unmarked content is the awkward part.** If GTA 6 requires encounters that appear unpredictably, the completion run has an irreducible element of waiting, and no guide can shortcut it.
- **Nothing about the actual requirements, counts or reward is knowable now.** Any GTA 6 completion checklist published before release is invented.

## What we are building against

The checklist page is being designed now so that launch week is data entry rather than engineering: a grouped, trackable list where every line links to the guide covering it, and every collectible line links to its markers on the [interactive map](https://gta6intelhub.com/map). The requirements go up as soon as they are readable, marked as transcribed rather than verified, and get upgraded to verified as we work through them ourselves.

We will also say plainly what 100% gets you. In GTA 5 the reward was modest relative to the effort, and a reader deciding whether to commit fifty-plus hours deserves to know that before starting rather than after.

## What lands here on launch day

19 Nov 2026

GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026. This page is already live so that it is indexed and established before then. Within the first days after release it is replaced with the real thing:

1. The exact completion requirements, transcribed from the in-game statistics screen — usually readable within hours of release, long before anyone has finished.
2. A grouped, trackable checklist with a link from every line to the guide that covers it.
3. A clear statement of what does not count — the collectibles and side content that sit outside the percentage, so you do not grind them by mistake.
4. The reward for reaching 100%, and whether it is worth the run.
5. An efficient completion order, once we understand what unlocks what and what is missable.

Nothing above is published until someone here has verified it in-game or Rockstar has stated it. If that takes longer than a day, the page says so rather than filling the gap with guesses. See [how we verify](https://gta6intelhub.com/editorial-policy).

## Frequently asked

**What do you need for 100% completion in GTA 6?**

Unknown. GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026 and its completion requirements have not been published by Rockstar or seen by anyone else. No checklist for GTA 6 can be genuine before release day, when the requirements become readable from the in-game statistics screen.

**How long will 100% completion take in GTA 6?**

Unknown. For scale, GTA 5 asked for all 69 story missions plus 20 specific side missions, 42 activities, 14 random events and a set of collectible requirements — many tens of hours for a player working through it deliberately with a guide, and considerably more without one. GTA 6 could be shorter or much longer, and we will not guess at a number until we have done the run.

**Do you need all collectibles for 100% completion?**

Unknown for GTA 6, and in GTA 5 the answer was deliberately uneven. Some sets were required in full — all 50 spaceship parts, all 50 letter scraps. Some were required only in part — 25 of 50 stunt jumps, 25 of 50 under-the-bridge flights, 8 of 15 knife flights. And several sets, including the monkey mosaics, submarine parts and nuclear waste, counted for nothing toward the percentage. Assuming every collectible counts is the most common way completionists waste time.

**Is 100% completion the same as the platinum trophy?**

Almost never. The completion percentage is an in-game counter with its own defined requirements; the achievement or trophy list is a separate platform feature. In GTA 5 there was an achievement for reaching 100%, but the two lists otherwise diverged in both directions.

**Can you use cheats and still get 100%?**

Unknown for GTA 6. In GTA 5 you could: cheats did not block 100% completion at all. Using one during a mission capped that attempt at a bronze medal, and gold medals were never a completion requirement, so the mission still counted. Achievements were suspended only for that game session and returned on reload. Guides claiming cheats cost you 100% in GTA 5 have confused the medal cap with the completion counter.
