**There are no GTA 6 cheat codes.** The game does not release until 19 November 2026. Rockstar has never released cheat codes for a Grand Theft Auto game before that game shipped, has said nothing about a cheat system in GTA 6, and showed nothing resembling one in the Extended Look.

If you have found a page listing GTA 6 cheat codes today, its author made them up. That is not a hedge — it is the only possible explanation, because nobody outside Rockstar has a retail build.

This page exists to give you the actually useful version: how GTA cheats have worked, what GTA 6's system will probably look like, how to recognise a fabricated list, and what we will do the day real codes exist.

## Why every GTA 6 cheat list online right now is fake

Cheat codes are not discoverable from trailers. They are not in press kits. They are found in one of three ways:

1. **Rockstar publishes them.** It has never done this pre-launch.
2. **Players brute-force or datamine them after release.** Impossible before the files exist publicly.
3. **They leak from an unreleased build.** GTA 6 gameplay footage did leak in August 2026, and Rockstar publicly called it "heartbreaking for our team." But leaked video of someone driving around does not surface a button-combination table, and no credible leak of a cheat list has appeared.

So a "GTA 6 cheat codes" page published in 2026 is a page that ranked for a high-volume query by filling it with plausible-looking nonsense. Usually you can spot it instantly: the codes are lightly reworded GTA 5 codes (`PAINKILLER` becomes `PAINFREE`), or the phone numbers follow GTA 5's `1-999-` format with digits shuffled.

**The tell:** ask what the page's source is. There cannot be one.

## How GTA cheats have historically worked

The series has used two input methods, and GTA 5 supported both simultaneously.

**Button combinations.** Entered live during free roam on a controller, in a short sequence — a handful of face buttons, triggers and D-pad directions. Fast to enter, easy to fat-finger.

**In-game phone numbers.** GTA 5 mapped every cheat to a number you dial on the in-game phone, always beginning `1-999-`, followed by a word spelled out on a phone keypad. `TURTLE` (max health and armour) is `1-999-887-853`. `LAWYERUP` (lower wanted level) is `1-999-5299-3787`. `DEADEYE` (slow-motion aiming) is `1-999-3323-393`. The numbers are identical across PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.

**PC console commands.** On PC, GTA 5 accepts the word directly — `SKYFALL`, `HOPTOIT`, `INCENDIARY` — in a console window.

Two rules that have held across GTA 5, and that are worth knowing before November:

- **Cheats disable trophies and achievements.** In GTA 5, entering any cheat switches them off for that playthrough. The standard workaround is a dedicated save file for messing around, kept separate from your main run.
- **Cheats do not persist through a save.** Most active GTA 5 cheats are cancelled by re-entering the same code, and the reliable way to clear everything is to reload an earlier save.

## What GTA 6 cheats will probably look like

This section is **speculation**, clearly labelled as such. Here is the reasoning.

The phone-number method is the safer bet, simply because it survived a full console generation and requires nothing but a dialer. GTA 5 introduced it, kept the same numbers across four console platforms, and it is still how most people enter cheats in that game today.

The button-combination method is the shakier bet. GTA 6's control scheme is busier than GTA 5's — the Extended Look showed contextual NPC interaction on a held trigger, a Focus mechanic for spotting police, a bullet-time mode with weak-point targeting, and instant character swapping. There are fewer spare inputs lying around for a cheat string.

What we would predict, at roughly this confidence:

| Prediction | How confident |
| --- | --- |
| GTA 6 ships with cheats at launch | Likely — every mainline GTA has |
| Phone-number entry is supported | Likely — it is what GTA 5 settled on |
| Cheats disable trophies/achievements | Likely, matching GTA 5 |
| No money cheat | Likely — GTA 5 had none, and GTA 6 has an economy to protect |
| Cheats work in any online mode | Very unlikely — cheats have always been single-player only |
| Button combinations return | Genuinely uncertain |

Systems shown in the Extended Look that a cheat set would plausibly interact with: the six-star wanted level (returning after being absent from GTA 5), the Criminal Profile that tracks your free-roam behaviour, and the karma system. Whether cheats interfere with those persistent trackers the way they interfere with achievements is an open and rather interesting question.

## What about the Ultimate Edition unlocks? Those are not cheats

Worth separating, because searches blur them. The GTA 6 Ultimate Edition includes vehicles, weapons, outfits, tattoo shops and a salon that the Standard Edition does not have. That is paid content, not a cheat, and no code will unlock it. If a page offers you a "code" for Ultimate Edition content, close it.

## What we will do when real cheats exist

The moment GTA 6 is in players' hands on 19 November, three things happen fast: Rockstar may publish an official list, dataminers pull strings from the build, and the community brute-forces the rest within days.

Our commitment for this page: we will not publish a single cheat code until we can attribute it to a working, reproduced input — Rockstar's own documentation, or a code we or a named outlet have confirmed works in a retail build. Every entry will carry the date it was verified. If a code is circulating widely and we have not been able to confirm it, we will list it and say so rather than pretend.

Until then, this page's answer stays the same: **there are no GTA 6 cheat codes, because there is no GTA 6.** Check back on 19 November.

## Frequently asked questions

These pairs are published on the page itself and are the answers this guide is most often asked for. The tier above applies to them.

**Q: What are the GTA 6 cheat codes?**

A: There are none yet. GTA 6 does not release until November 19, 2026, and Rockstar has never published cheat codes before a Grand Theft Auto launch. Every GTA 6 cheat code list currently online was invented by its author.

**Q: Will GTA 6 have cheat codes?**

A: Almost certainly, but Rockstar has not confirmed it. Every mainline Grand Theft Auto to date has shipped with cheats, and GTA 5 supported both controller button combinations and in-game phone numbers. Nothing in the Extended Look showed or mentioned a cheat system.

**Q: How will GTA 6 cheats work?**

A: Unknown. The most likely design, based on GTA 5, is dialable in-game phone numbers and possibly controller button combinations, entered during free roam. That is an expectation drawn from the previous game, not information about this one.

**Q: Do GTA cheats disable trophies and achievements?**

A: In GTA 5, yes. Entering a cheat disables trophies and achievements for that session, and most cheats can be turned off by re-entering the same code. Whether GTA 6 works the same way is unknown.

**Q: Is there a GTA 6 money cheat?**

A: No, and there probably never will be. Rockstar has not included a money cheat in a mainline GTA since the PS2 era, and GTA 5 pointedly had no money cheat. Any site claiming a GTA 6 money cheat is fabricating it.
