## The short answer

**There is no real GTA 6 map yet, and we are not going to draw one.** Rockstar has not released a map of Leonida, the in-game map cannot be extracted before the game ships, and every “GTA 6 map” image circulating today is a fan reconstruction assembled from trailer frames, flight-path guesses and older leaks. Some of those reconstructions are careful work. None of them is a map.

What we can do honestly is show you which places Rockstar has actually named and which region each one sits in — because that relationship *is* stated, even though no geometry is. That is the region explorer below: 26 sourced places — 21 of them officially confirmed — grouped into the 6 named regions of Leonida and the state itself, every node carrying its confidence tier and linking to the evidence. It is a diagram, it says so on its own face, and it is the only kind of GTA 6 map anyone can honestly publish today. The coordinate map with collectible markers is built the week the game releases.

## Explore the named regions of Leonida

Our locations database holds 26 places Rockstar has named, sorted into the 6 named regions of Leonida plus the records that belong to the state as a whole. Below, each region is a panel and each place is a node inside the panel it belongs to. That containment is the only spatial fact in the diagram — **where a panel or a node sits means nothing at all**. Panels are placed by how many sourced records we hold, which is a fact about our coverage, not about Florida. No direction, no distance, no adjacency, no coastline, no scale.

Click any node to read the record, see its confidence tier and open the sourced page behind it. Drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, and “Copy link” gives you a URL that reopens the exact view you are looking at.

**This is a diagram, not a map.** It shows which places Rockstar has named inside which region — the only spatial fact anyone outside Rockstar has. Where a panel or a node sits carries no direction, distance or scale. Positions are illustrative.

### Regions

0 / 26 read

Nothing in GTA 6 can be “found” yet, so the tick marks what you have read. Kept in this browser only; nothing is uploaded.

- The region list appears here with the map. Every place on the diagram is also listed in full below it.

Schematic region diagram — positions are illustrative, not surveyed 26 sourced places across 7 region panels derived from our [locations database](https://gta6intelhub.com/locations)

### How to read a node

- Node colour is its region. The glyph inside it is the kind of place:
- Region
- City
- Neighborhood
- Landmark
- Nature
- Transport
- Infrastructure
- Business
- Shop
- Nightlife
- Property

## Every place on the diagram, region by region

The same 26 records as a plain list, so they are readable without JavaScript, in a screen reader, and by anything that reads this page as text. Each one links to its own page, where the sources are set out in full.

## Why the explorer is a diagram and not a map

Because a map is a claim about where things are, and nobody outside Rockstar can make that claim yet. The moment we draw a coastline we have invented one; the moment we put Port Gellhorn a certain distance north-west of Vice City we have invented that too. Those inventions would be indistinguishable, to a reader, from the parts we actually know — which would poison the parts we actually know.

So the explorer draws only the relation Rockstar published: this place is in that region. It looks like a diagram because it is one, and it says so in its own artwork, in its footer and in every node you open. When the game ships, the diagram underneath is swapped for the real base map and the same nodes are placed against real coordinates. The software does not change; only the thing it is honest about does.

## What Rockstar has confirmed about the setting

Two things, and they are the load-bearing two: GTA 6 is set in the **state of Leonida**, and its urban centre is **Vice City**. Leonida is a fictionalised Florida; Vice City is the series’ long-running fictionalised Miami, last playable in 2002’s *Grand Theft Auto: Vice City*. The protagonists are Lucia and Jason.

Beyond that, specifics come from reading trailers frame by frame. That is a legitimate way to identify a location and a terrible way to establish a coastline. A beach bar visible in a trailer proves the beach bar exists. It proves nothing about how far the map extends north of it.

## Why we are not shipping a speculative interactive map

An interactive map is the highest-traffic feature a GTA resource can have. It is also the feature where being wrong is most obvious. If a reader opens our map, drives to a marker and finds nothing there, we have not made a small error — we have proven the site cannot be trusted, in the one moment the reader was actually relying on it.

So the rule here is simple: markers go on the map when someone has stood on the spot. Not before. In the meantime the honest version of this page is a written account of what is known, which is what you are reading.

## How the GTA 5 map worked, and what that implies

This is precedent, not prediction. GTA 5 shipped with a single continuous map — Los Santos and Blaine County — with no loading screens between regions, an ocean floor that was fully explorable by submarine, and airspace above it. The in-game map filled in as you drove: roads you had not travelled appeared as you found them, and collectible locations were generally **not** marked until you had found some of that set yourself or unlocked the intel another way.

That last detail is why third-party interactive maps mattered so much for GTA 5. The game deliberately does not hand you the collectible locations, so an external map with accurate markers became the tool most players kept open on a second screen. If GTA 6 keeps that design, the same will be true again — and the accuracy of the markers is the entire value of the tool.

Whether GTA 6 does keep it is genuinely unknown. Rockstar has changed collectible signposting between games before; *Red Dead Redemption 2* handled discovery quite differently from GTA 5. Treat “GTA 6 will have unmarked collectibles” as a reasonable expectation, not as information.

## What to distrust between now and launch

- **Any map image with a scale on it.** Nobody outside Rockstar can measure the map. A stated square mileage today is a guess wearing a number.
- **“Leaked” full map screenshots.** Historically these are either fan reconstructions that lost their attribution while being reposted, or old material from the 2022 leak, which showed development builds and does not describe the shipping game.
- **Collectible location lists.** No collectible set has been announced, let alone located. A list of coordinates for a game nobody has played is fabricated, without exception.
- **Comparisons to GTA 5’s size stated as fact.** “Twice the size” is a claim that has attached itself to every GTA sequel since GTA 3. It may well be true this time. It is not currently evidence — and see below for why the GTA 5 baseline is shakier than people assume.

## A worked example: nobody knows how big GTA 5 is either

This is worth spelling out, because it shows how a made-up number survives for a decade. You will see “GTA 5's map is 49 square miles” repeated everywhere. Rockstar never said that. What Rockstar said before launch was that the GTA 5 map would be larger than the maps of Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV and San Andreas *combined*. Those three add up to roughly 49 square miles — so 49 is the size of the comparison set, not the size of GTA 5. Somebody dropped the word “combined”, and the number has been quoted as GTA 5's own area ever since.

Actual community measurements of Los Santos and Blaine County land at roughly 75 square kilometres, about 29 square miles, including water — of which around 48 square kilometres is land. Those are careful estimates by players, not official figures, and they vary depending on how much open ocean you count.

Two things follow. First, if the size of a thirteen-year-old released game is still genuinely uncertain, a confident square-mileage figure for an unreleased one is worthless. Second, when we do publish a GTA 6 size comparison, we will state the measurement method and apply it identically to every game in the table, because otherwise the comparison means nothing.

## What we are building now so it is ready on day one

The map hub is not idle while we wait. The [locations database](https://gta6intelhub.com/locations) is the skeleton the interactive map will hang on: every entry already has a name, a region, a type, a summary and its sources. When the real map exists, plotting those entries is a coordinate-entry job rather than a research job, which is the difference between publishing in the first week and publishing in the second.

## What lands here on launch day

19 Nov 2026

GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026. This page is already live so that it is indexed and established before then. Within the first days after release it is replaced with the real thing:

1. The real base map underneath the explorer that is already on this page, with every existing node repositioned against real coordinates rather than diagram positions.
2. Confirmed landmark and district markers, cross-linked to the entity pages in our locations database.
3. Collectible marker layers — one toggleable layer per set — added set by set as each is verified in-game rather than all at once.
4. A measured size comparison against GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA: Vice City, using the same measurement method for all four so the numbers are comparable.
5. Property, business and safehouse markers if the game has them.

Nothing above is published until someone here has verified it in-game or Rockstar has stated it. If that takes longer than a day, the page says so rather than filling the gap with guesses. See [how we verify](https://gta6intelhub.com/editorial-policy).

## Frequently asked

**Is there an interactive GTA 6 map yet?**

Not a coordinate one, and anyone showing you one is showing you a drawing. Rockstar has not released a map of Leonida, and the in-game map cannot be extracted before the game ships. Fan maps built from trailer footage are reconstructions with real uncertainty in them — useful as speculation, useless for navigation. What this page does have is a schematic region explorer: the places Rockstar has actually named, arranged inside the regions Rockstar has actually put them in, every node linked to a sourced record with its confidence tier. Positions on it are illustrative and it says so. The real coordinate map goes live once the retail game exists.

**How big is the GTA 6 map?**

Rockstar has not published a square-mileage figure, and no reliable measurement is possible before release. Every number circulating today — "twice the size of GTA 5", "the biggest map ever" — traces back to unverified claims rather than to Rockstar. Worth knowing that Rockstar never published an official figure for GTA 5 either: the widely repeated "49 square miles" is a misreading of a pre-launch comparison, and community measurements put GTA 5 at roughly 75 square kilometres including water. We will publish a comparison once the GTA 6 map can actually be measured.

**What do we actually know about the GTA 6 map?**

The game is set in the state of Leonida, with Vice City as its urban centre. That much comes from Rockstar directly. Individual districts, towns and landmarks are being identified frame by frame from trailer footage, and each one in our locations database carries the evidence for it and a confidence label.

**Will GTA 6 have collectibles marked on the map?**

Unknown. Every mainline GTA since GTA 5 has had collectible sets, and GTA 5 revealed collectible locations on the in-game map only after you found the first few or bought treasure-hunt intel. Whether GTA 6 repeats that pattern is an expectation based on precedent, not a fact.

**When will your interactive map be ready?**

The map software is already live on this page, running on the schematic region explorer. On launch day the diagram underneath it is replaced by the real base map and the same nodes are repositioned against real coordinates — that is one configuration change, not a rebuild. Collectible marker layers follow as each set is verified in-game, which realistically means the first week rather than the first day: someone has to physically find every marker before we can plot it.
