GTA 6 Cheats

No GTA 6 cheat codes exist. Not one. Here is why every list you have seen is invented, what GTA 5's cheat system actually did, and exactly when real codes appear on this page.

The short answer

There are no GTA 6 cheat codes. Every “GTA 6 cheat list” currently online is fabricated. Cheat codes are strings compiled into a shipped game; they are found by players and dataminers after release, not announced in advance. GTA 6 does not release until 19 November 2026, so nobody — not us, not any site claiming otherwise — has a code that works.

We will publish real GTA 6 cheats on this page once we have entered each one ourselves and watched it work. Until then, what follows is the honest version: how GTA 5's cheat system was built, what that suggests about GTA 6, and how to spot a fake list at a glance.

How to tell a fabricated GTA 6 cheat list

These lists are being published now precisely because the query has volume and no correct answer. A few reliable tells:

  • The codes are GTA 5's codes. The laziest fakes reuse GTA 5's controller combinations and phone numbers verbatim. If you have seen the sequence before, you have seen it before.
  • There is a money cheat. GTA 5 had no money cheat. Neither did GTA IV. A GTA 6 money cheat is the single clearest signal that a page is inventing its content — and it is the most common hook for account-phishing pages.
  • No date, no method, no caveats. A real cheat page states which platform each input is for, whether the effect persists through a reload, and what it costs you in achievements. A fabricated one is a bare table.
  • It requires a “generator”, a survey, or your account. Cheat codes are typed into the game. Anything asking for a login, a download or a human-verification step is a scam, and it is not even a subtle one.
  • It claims Rockstar announced them. Rockstar does not publish cheat codes before a game is out.

How GTA 5's cheat system worked

Everything in this section is about GTA 5. It is the best available guide to what GTA 6 might do, and it is not a claim about GTA 6.

Three ways in — but not on every platform

  • Controller button combinations. A rapid sequence of face buttons, triggers and D-pad directions entered during play. Available on every version of the game. Fast once memorised, easy to fumble.
  • The in-game mobile phone. Most cheats also had a phone number; dial it and the effect triggers, and the number stays in your call history so repeating it is one press. This method did not exist on the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 release — it arrived with the enhanced re-release. Plenty of cheat lists still get that wrong.
  • The PC developer console. On the PC version, a console opened with the tilde key and accepted cheats as typed words. Not relevant to GTA 6 at launch, which is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S only.

The count also depends on version: roughly 31 cheats in the original 2013 release, 34 in the enhanced versions, the difference being a few extra vehicle spawns. If a list quotes one number as though it were universal, it has not checked.

What the cheats actually did

Category (GTA 5) Effects
Player state Invincibility for a limited time, max health and armour, and a full weapon and ammunition loadout.
Wanted level Raise the wanted level by one star, or clear it entirely.
Movement Fast run, super jump, and a skydiving spawn high above the map.
Combat modifiers Explosive melee, explosive rounds, and incendiary rounds.
World physics Slow-motion, slow-motion aiming, moon gravity, and low-grip vehicle handling.
Weather and world Cycle the weather, and a drunk-movement mode.
Vehicle spawning Spawn a fixed set of specific vehicles — a helicopter, a few sports cars and motorbikes, a stunt plane, a BMX, a garbage truck, a limousine and others.
Money Nothing. GTA 5 had no money cheat, at launch or since.

Effects only, deliberately. Publishing GTA 5's actual codes on a page about GTA 6 is how the confusion these fake lists rely on gets started.

The rules that mattered — and the ones everyone gets wrong

  • Cheats did not persist. You could not store a cheat on the phone the way GTA IV allowed. Effects ended when you reloaded a save or restarted the game and had to be re-entered; several were time-limited within a session anyway.
  • Achievements were suspended for the session, not permanently. This is the correction worth having. Activating a cheat disabled achievements and trophies for that game session — reload a save or restart the game and they unlocked normally again. That is the opposite of GTA IV, where the penalty was permanent, and it is why so much repeated advice about GTA 5 is wrong. See the achievements hub.
  • Saving was never blocked. You could save with cheats active, and an autosave firing during a cheat did not flag or corrupt anything.
  • Cheats did not block 100% completion. Using a cheat during a mission capped that attempt at a bronze medal — and gold medals were not a completion requirement, so the mission still counted. Any guide telling you cheats cost you 100% has confused the medal cap with the completion counter. See the completion hub.
  • No cheats in the online mode. Cheat codes were a single-player feature. Modifying the online game is a ban, not a cheat code.
  • No money cheat. Worth repeating, because it is the fake-list tell and because it is almost certainly deliberate design rather than an oversight.

How fast real codes appeared last time

Worth knowing, because it sets a realistic expectation for launch weekend. GTA 5's cheats were compiled into the retail game rather than patched in later, and Rockstar never published a code list. Players found them. Archived snapshots of the community cheat listings show around 22 working controller combinations catalogued two days after the September 2013 release, and the full 31-cheat set for that version complete inside three weeks.

So the honest forecast for GTA 6 is: a partial list within a day or two, a complete one within a few weeks, and a great deal of confidently-worded nonsense in between. This page will show the verified subset and say what is still missing, rather than filling the gap.

The reason GTA 6 might not work like this at all

Rockstar's most recent open world was Red Dead Redemption 2, and it changed the model significantly: cheats were entered as typed phrases, many had to be unlocked first by finding the phrase printed in an in-game newspaper, and while any cheat was active the game suspended achievements and refused to let you save manually. Turning the cheats back off restored both. That is a much more restrictive design than GTA 5's, and it is the more recent one.

So the honest position on “will GTA 6 have cheats?” is: probably, in some form, because the series always has — but the form is genuinely open, and anyone telling you the entry method today is guessing. We will tell you the moment we have entered one.

Our commitment on this page

Cheat codes are the one category on this site that will never be drafted from other sources, scraped, or published on someone else's authority. Every code that appears here will have been typed into a retail copy by a person on this team, on the platform it is listed for, and observed to work. If that means we are an hour behind a site that copied a list, we are an hour behind.

If a code turns out to be wrong, it gets corrected and the correction is noted rather than quietly edited. That is our editorial policy, and on this page it is the entire product.

What lands here on launch day

GTA 6 releases on . This page is already live so that it is indexed and established before then. Within the first days after release it is replaced with the real thing:

  1. Verified cheat codes, split by platform — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — with the controller input and the phone number for each, if both methods exist.
  2. Every code entered by a human on real hardware before it is published. No code goes up because another site had it.
  3. The exact effect and duration of each cheat, and whether it persists through a save and reload.
  4. A plain statement of the penalty: whether cheats block achievements, block saving, or affect the completion percentage — tested, not assumed.
  5. A running note of which codes are still unverified, so a partial list reads as partial rather than as complete.

Nothing above is published until someone here has verified it in-game or Rockstar has stated it. If that takes longer than a day, the page says so rather than filling the gap with guesses. See how we verify.

Frequently asked

What are the GTA 6 cheat codes?

There are none. GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026 and no cheat codes for it exist, have been published, or can be known — a cheat code has to be found inside a shipped game, and the game has not shipped. Every GTA 6 cheat list currently online is fabricated.

Will GTA 6 have cheat codes at all?

Not confirmed. Every mainline Grand Theft Auto has had them, so it is a reasonable expectation. But Rockstar changed the model substantially in Red Dead Redemption 2, where many cheats had to be unlocked by finding a specific phrase in an in-game newspaper before they could be used at all — so "GTA 6 will have cheats" is an expectation based on precedent, not information.

Is there a GTA 6 money cheat?

No. Beyond the fact that no GTA 6 cheats exist yet, GTA 5 pointedly had no money cheat despite having dozens of others, and Rockstar has been consistent about that — almost certainly because the campaign and the online mode share economic design. Any site offering a GTA 6 money cheat is either fabricating or running a scam; treat requests for your account details as hostile.

Do cheats disable achievements and trophies in GTA 6?

Unknown for GTA 6. In GTA 5 the penalty was milder than most guides claim: activating a cheat disabled achievements and trophies for that game session only, not permanently — reload or restart and they worked again. Saving was never blocked, and 100% completion was never blocked. Red Dead Redemption 2 was stricter, suspending both achievements and manual saving for as long as a cheat was active. We will test the GTA 6 rule on day one rather than assume either.

How will GTA 6 cheats be entered?

Unknown. GTA 5 accepted three methods — a button combination on the controller, which worked on every platform; dialling a number on the in-game mobile phone, which was added with the enhanced re-release and never worked on the original PS3 and Xbox 360 versions; and a developer console on PC. GTA 6 launches on console only, so controller combinations and possibly phone numbers are the plausible methods. Rockstar has not said.

When will you publish real GTA 6 cheat codes?

As soon as we have entered each one ourselves on real hardware and watched it work. That is likely within the first day, and if only some codes are verified by then we will publish those and say plainly which are still outstanding. We will never republish a code we have not personally tested.
