GTA 6 Achievements & Trophies

The list does not exist publicly yet, and it will appear all at once on release day. Here is what will be in it, why it matters what you do before you start playing, and how fast we can get it up.

The short answer

The GTA 6 achievement and trophy list has not been published, and no complete list can be genuine before release day. Rockstar does not announce achievement lists ahead of launch. The list becomes visible when retail copies go live and platform databases pick it up — usually within hours, sometimes slightly before street date in the earliest release regions.

One thing is worth knowing before you start playing, and it is the reason this page exists early: cheats and achievements interact, and the rule differs between Rockstar games. In GTA 5 the penalty was mild — achievements were suspended for the current session and came back on reload. In Red Dead Redemption 2 it was strict enough to block saving too. We will confirm which model GTA 6 uses on day one, and until then a completion save is safest kept clean.

When the list actually appears

Achievement and trophy metadata ships inside the game package and is registered with the platform, so it becomes readable the moment the game is live rather than when anyone has finished it. In practice this means:

  • Release day, within hours. Trophy and achievement databases surface the full list — names, descriptions, gamerscore values, trophy grades — with no play time required.
  • Hidden achievements stay hidden. Story-spoiler achievements are usually marked secret and their descriptions are withheld until unlocked, so parts of the list stay unknown for days.
  • Missable status is not in the metadata. Whether an achievement can be permanently lost has to be worked out by playing, or inferred from wording. This is the part that takes real time and is the part worth reading a guide for.

Because the transcription requires no play time, the achievement list is genuinely the fastest useful page we can put up at launch. It is second in our launch-day order only to verified cheat codes.

GTA 5 precedent — what the list will probably look like

This describes GTA 5. It is a guide to the shape of the list, not a claim about GTA 6's contents.

  • Story progress achievements. Awarded for finishing acts and major missions. Unmissable, unlocked by playing.
  • Completion milestones. Tied to the completion percentage, including one for reaching 100%. These are the long ones.
  • Collectible sets. Typically one achievement per set for finding all of them. See the collectibles hub for the scale involved.
  • Side content. Finishing the side-character mission threads, hobbies and activities.
  • Skill and oddity achievements. A handful of specific stunts or obscure actions, which are where the missables and the genuinely difficult ones cluster.
  • Online achievements. GTA 5's list included achievements tied to its online mode, which meant full completion required playing online as well as the campaign. Whether GTA 6 does the same is unknown and is worth checking before you commit to a platinum attempt.

The cheat question, and why the usual advice is wrong

You will read constantly that using a cheat in GTA 5 costs you your trophies. It is not that severe. Activating a cheat in GTA 5 suspended achievements and trophies for the current game session; reloading a save or restarting the game restored them. A player who spawned a helicopter in hour three did not forfeit the platinum. Saving was never blocked either, and cheats did not block 100% completion — they only capped that mission attempt at a bronze medal, and gold medals were not a completion requirement.

Rockstar has not been consistent about this across games, which is the actual reason to be careful. Red Dead Redemption 2 was far stricter: while a cheat was active it suspended achievements and refused to let you save at all. GTA 6 could follow either model.

Our commitment: we will state the actual GTA 6 rule here on day one — tested, not assumed, and specifically whether the penalty is per-session or per-save. Until then, if you intend to chase completion, a cheat-free save is the safe play. More on the codes themselves at the cheats hub.

Achievements are not the same as 100% completion

These get conflated constantly and they are different lists with different rules. The completion percentage is an in-game counter with its own defined requirements; the achievement list is a platform feature. In GTA 5 there was an achievement for hitting 100%, but plenty of achievements sat outside the completion requirements and plenty of completion requirements had no achievement attached. If you are planning a full clear, you are working two checklists at once — see the completion hub for the other one.

What lands here on launch day

GTA 6 releases on . This page is already live so that it is indexed and established before then. Within the first days after release it is replaced with the real thing:

  1. The complete achievement and trophy list, transcribed from the platform databases, with gamerscore and trophy grades.
  2. Suspected missables flagged immediately from the wording, then confirmed or cleared as we play.
  3. A clear statement of whether cheats block achievements in GTA 6 — tested on day one, because it determines whether you can use cheats at all on a completion save.
  4. Which achievements are story-automatic and which need deliberate effort, so you know what to plan around.
  5. A platinum route once the list is understood: the order to do things in, and what to do before the point of no return.

Nothing above is published until someone here has verified it in-game or Rockstar has stated it. If that takes longer than a day, the page says so rather than filling the gap with guesses. See how we verify.

Frequently asked

What are the GTA 6 achievements and trophies?

They have not been published. Rockstar does not announce achievement lists in advance, and the list is normally not visible until retail copies are live — at which point trophy and achievement databases surface it within hours. GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026, so the earliest a real list can exist is release day.

Is there a GTA 6 platinum trophy?

Almost certainly on PlayStation, since Sony requires a platinum trophy for full retail releases and every mainline Rockstar game has had one. That is a platform rule rather than anything Rockstar has said about GTA 6. Xbox uses gamerscore and has no platinum equivalent.

Do cheats disable achievements in GTA 6?

Unknown for GTA 6, and the GTA 5 answer is milder than most guides claim. In GTA 5, activating a cheat disabled achievements and trophies for that game session only — reload a save or restart the game and they unlocked normally again. Saving was not blocked and 100% completion was not blocked. Red Dead Redemption 2 was stricter. We will test the GTA 6 rule on day one rather than assume either.

How many achievements will GTA 6 have?

Unknown. For scale, GTA 5 shipped in 2013 with 49 achievements worth 1,000 gamerscore on Xbox 360, and 50 trophies including the platinum on PlayStation 3. Later downloadable content and the enhanced re-release pushed the totals substantially higher. Any specific GTA 6 number quoted today is a guess.

Will there be missable achievements in GTA 6?

Unknown, and it is the question worth answering fastest. Missable achievements — ones tied to a choice, a timed event or something that closes after a story beat — are the reason a completionist reads an achievement guide before playing rather than after. We flag suspected missables from the achievement wording on day one, and confirm them as we play.
